Excerpt: The Horse The Dog and The Bird With the sun at its highest point on a beautiful spring day, the flowers and trees enjoyed the warmth of the day until they heard a loud sound. Benny, the farm’s family dog, was doing what he does best—causing trouble. As usual, nosy Benny was running around and investigating anything and everything that moved or did not move. Suddenly, and out of nowhere, Benny glimpsed something out of the corner of his eye. From a distance, he saw something fall out of the fruit trees. Being the snooping, young pup that he is, Benny ran to the fruit tree to investigate. He was very excited to see what it might be and wondered, What is it? What could it be?
